We built the boxes and really liked the look with all the flowers, bulbs, etc. But after 2 years, we decided to dig everything up and turn this formal garden into a mixture of vegetables and herbs.
The boxes have been wonderful as we have screwed in hooks and are able to do seasonal trellises for tomatoes and smaller melons. It still has a formal look, but now we get to make the choice of what we grow from year to year.
This has turned out to be a very functional landscape, pretty from the beds to the table :)
