Hi,
I have a flower garden that I have been planting flowers in for over 20 years. I have gotten them in varius stores and garden centers over the years and I don't remember where or when I bought this one. I would like to know what it is so I can buy more and replace it when we sell our house in a couple of years. I asked at my local nursery and she was not sure what it was called, but thought it was a very old type plant that she had not seen in a long time.
thanks,
Denise

Hi again,
Here is a close up of the flowers. Also this dies down in winter and comes back every spring.

Looks like Baptisia australis, I could be off on the species but I definitely think it's a type of Baptisia

There are lots of new baptisias out now. I have a beautiful yellow one that's been fab this spring! You might be able to find some seedlings around it. Don't try to dig up the original plant, though. They've got mighty deep roots:)
