I have a chain link fence with the poles in a concrete slab, I need to temporarily remove the fence section to get access to the backyard with a vehicle. What's the easiest way? I'm thinking I have to either get a hammer and chisel to brake the concrete around the poles or else get a hacksaw and cut the poles, either way I'll have to do some repair to get it back. suggestions and advice welcomed
I'd consider sawing the posts / pipe (with a sawzall, it's like a powered hacksaw) and look for short pieces of pipe whose outside diameter matches the inside diameter of the posts, so you can put the same posts back. And no messing with the concrete... but that's just one way to do it.
If you havben't already done your work Claypa's suggestion is such a labor, time and money saver and the biggest plus is if you ever need acess again just pull the post up. Would not bust up the concrete unless you need to replace it anyway. I sleeve all my posts for bird feeders, houses etc. in the lawn that way- also works nicely if you need to add to the top of the fence.
