Hey there Rocco. Thanks for posting the link on the Audubon's tour. I live in Tulsa and attend this every year. It's the greatest and I can't wait to pick up some plants from the native plant vendors.

Tammy
I thought that Audubon made excellent choices in selecting the yards this year. My daughter (anitabax in the above post) have been attending the tours for many years. We started when it Was 'MEHAWH' (Make Every Home a Wild life Habitat) which became part of Audubon. I also buy plants. I lost all of my salvia greggii due to the late freeze and bought some to replace those. I find that the people who attend these tours and the home owners are always very pleasant.
I posted the carving of the St Francis figure in the garden art forum. Be there next year!

Yeah I think it would be really neat if they had another one toward the starting of fall that way I could see the plants then and see how much they have grown. Also we could see how some prepare for the wildlife for the winter.
But that's ok..

The Tulsa Master Gardeners Showcase Garden Tour is scheduled for Saturday June 23 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The OSU extension service at 4116 E. 15th st has the info.
There are five homes on the tour. One of the homes is the same as for the Audubon tour, the one with the St Francis carving. The other four are new. The tickets are $6.00 if purchased at the county extension office.

These tours always occur in the month of June. This is the first year for the Master gardeners tour. The Audubon tours have been around for quite a while. The local newspaper usually prints an article about the tours. There was almost a full page article about the MG tour in the newspaper on 23 June. Unfortunately that was the day of the tour. Calling the Audubon Society and the County extension service in the last week of May would be a good way to be alerted. Mark your '08 calendar.
