My wallflower plants have started to die off and they now have seedpods. How do I use these seeds for next years crop???? Do I just take the pod and dry it then cut it open??? My late grandad used to supply these to me every year and I want to carry them on in his memory.

Hi kezzer, you can collect the seeds the way you sugested, if it helps, you can also dig up a couple of your plants, hang them upside down in a warm place and seel a PAPER bag over the dead flower heads, the seed will dry more natural and the seeds will fall into the paper bag for you to pop them into a sealed envelope with the plant name on it. Make sure your seeds are real dry before you store then or they will rot, not sure if you will get the exact same coloured flowers as the seed came from as the insecrs will have cross pollenated them, buy does that really matter, the point is, you want to keep your granddad;s memories going and what better way to do it, I think that is great, he must have been very special. Hope this helps you, good luck.
WeeNel.
