I found it very interesting, its obviously biased so there is no misconception. These people are silly enough to think that they can go up against the Powers That Be, but it got me to thinking...I know Dangerous terrority here...But who here would like to be able to have Victorgardener solar system? Raise your hands.
So in this program is the dude that has the solar panel plant (the creator of the 300 mile battery) - why can't this company sell me a system and "sell" me the loan to get it? If I can get off the grid and not have that bill it frees up that utility money that I normally spend and they could have it, I would prefer that the company got the interest money not a bank or credit union...well maybe a credit union...I think that kind of system would generate some interest...and some real profit for "the company"...in the hopes that could help bring down the price...thoughts?
Companies that finance their own products generally make a decent+ profit so your thoughts are vaild. I always told my mother that Sears WAS NOT in the business of selling goods, they were in the business of selling money to buy those goods.
In the past several decades not many people went "solar" without state and federal incentives. We may be at a point where we may have to make that choice without incentives as our fuel costs keep rising. My fuel bill just for heating this past winter was often over 25% of my total income.
Ouch that has got to hurt, my TOTAL utility bill last month was under $50 - $15/gas & $32 for power, water, sewer & garbage removal...I have to refinance my house this year & will be getting a home equity loan - 1st thing I am doing is replacing my single pane glass windows...also will be needing a new roof - its currently almost a flat roof (very little pitch)
with the snow that we can get (weather is SO unpredictable) I would have to go up and shovel it - not a pleasant prospect at any age but @ mine - forget it. So I started thinking about solar and how the current roof would not be suitable due to snow accumulation...anyhow got me to thinking...
A friend and customer is an investor in Phoenix Motorcars.
It is the battery technology that makes them so fascinating. At 440 they can be recharged in 10 minutes. Even at the highest electric rates today, it would be much less than the $30+ that even a 10 gal refil would cost.
I agree Bubba - when I sasw this movie Phyllis Diller was on saying she remembers electric cars (I did no know they had them back when) and that they where easier to start then the gas one (they had to be cranked) - apparently the reason we are stuck with gas now is the Gas model (thanks Mr. Ford) was put to the assembly line and mass produced and NOT the electic...
Just google electric cars. Even Jay Leno has one of the old ones, and it was recently featured on Jay's Garage.
I remember receiving a subscription to Walt Disney comics when I was about 7. One of the McDucks drove a Baker Electric. So. I've known about them most of my life. The problem has been the range and the recharging time.
Pheonix uses a standard plug like you would have on an electric dryer or gas range. It would charge over night and give you a 100 mile range at up to 70MPH.
