This is the other thing coming up in my garden that now I'm not so sure about. I thought it might be the bellflower I planted from seed, but I don't think so now. Any thoughts? Should I pull it? The new leaves are very silvery, but its like a dusting of silver and as they get larger, the leaves get less silvery and more green. There's quite a bit of it coming up. Thanks in advance :)

Not campunala, looks like lambsquarter - very common weed - pull away.

I concur with Al - it's a common weed, pull 'em. Roots don't go deep, so should be easy to get out.

Those are lambsquarters. Some of the people around here cook them like spinach and eat it, but I recommend just pulling them before they set seed.

Gosh they are growning everywhere. I am getting a backache from bending over to rip them out of the ground.

They are in the top 3 of what I pull. Oxalis and cosmos being the others.

ROFLMBO! These doggone weeds will fool you! I planted a real pretty flower in a small garden in front of our shop last summer. This year it came up, I fertilized and watered well. I watched it grow, and grow, and grow (like Jack and the Beanstalk, fer cryin out loud!). Finally figured out after it got 4 feet tall that it was NOT my little flower. It didn't help that I couldn't remember what kind of flower it was I had planted there, lol. Hubby got a real good laugh out of it because he's always teasing me about "planting all those weeds."

Being new to this area I don't know what is a weed so I have been letting them grow and as they flower I decide what to do. I have been able to recognize some of the weeds but still in the grow and pull stage...low learning curve...lol

NatureLover, that is a GOOD one! I am probably growing alot of weeds that I think are pretty flowers..oh well.

NatureLover - I've got you beat there. I actually did the same and then included the unknown weeds in plants I gave to my brother - only to figure out it was a weed later. I didn't tell him of course.

Oh man--I feel better now bigcityal. Even for some of us who have been gardening for 30+ years, the occassional weed can still make a fool of us, lol.
