Hi everyone. I am looking for a detergent with enzymes. My daughters spilled mustard on my carpet and the stain removal process says to use it, but I can't one that says it contains enzymes.
Thanks in advance.

A lot of times they won't tell you on the label what it is that's doing the stain removal, some of the products you have may have enzymes but you'd never know it (you might try googling anything you have around the house and see if you can find somewhere on the net that tells you whether that particular product has enzymes or not). The dish soap Dawn with bleach alternative has enzymes in it (just the bleach alternative one, not the regular Dawn) so you could try that if you have it. A lot of pet stain removers also have them so you might try one of those, otherwise look for something that has a lot of claims about things like blood/other bodily fluids, or grass stains, I think enzymes are the best things to get rid of those so products that focus on that sort of stains are more likely to have enzymes in them.

I would look at Carbona. I've used their products before and have been happy with them. They are at many stores and only a couple of dollars, although not all stores carry every stain remover that they make. Check out their chart on which product to use for what stain.

Original scent Tide has enzymes listed as an ingredient- I just ran downstairs and read the box.

Enzymes, are proteins, which are used for removing protein based stains. I shouldn't think that would be the best approach for mustard.

Biz Enzyme Detergent, contains enzymes. Otherwise, stain removers from the pet department, will specifically say they contain enzymes because they are made to dissolve urine and feces residue.

I would do a Google search, or ASK specifically for mustard stains.

Good Luck.

Here are some suggestions for removing mustard stain. The stain is from the turmeric in the mustard. It is a yellow dye and is one of the most difficult stains to remove.

The Melaleuca line of products also contain enzymes that are very strong and work better than store bought products.

enzymes work great on blood as well. As long as you don't wash it first the enzymes get the blood out. Even dried blood.
