Crafts and Decorating: Have you used plastic paints?

I just made a rain barrel for the front of our home. It is VERY WHITE, and my home is very purple. I'd like to paint a funky design on it, and am looking for paints that successfully paint on plastic outdoors.
I do not want spray paint, but craft paints.
Has anyone tried the Folkart plastic paints? They come in lots of colors.
