Do a Google search on "Convert 110 to 220." You'll get results. Bubba_MoCity Missouri City, TXJune 4, 2007 10:18 AM

You need a second "hot". Be sure to wire the recepticle correctly, and provide proper fuse (breaker) for the load. claypa West Pottsgrove, PA (Zone 6b)June 4, 2007 10:25 AM

Paul,
I saw your post on my home page, so asked my husband, who has been a Union Electrician for 44 years.
He shook his head emphatically, and said it can't be done that way- then proceeded to explain to me exactly why (none of which I understood!)
But, in closing-he said the best advice he could give was to hire an experienced electrician (union or non-union) and have it done.
I wish I had better news to report.
Sasha
