Has anybody grown Wyandottes (sometimes spelled Wyandot or possibly Old Wyandot)? Orange, medium to large, heirloom variety. I saw some at the Ohio State Fair in a display probably 10 years ago and thought they were really awesome. I keep thinking I'd like to try some one of these years but have trouble locating any sources for seeds. (I realize it is too late for this season but I'm still curious). I ordered seeds on line from one place last year (after being delighted to find them listed) but had terrible luck with germination (actually from every seed I got from that place, but that's a different thread). We are growing Amana Orange this year and they are doing quite well so far (and I've always had good luck with them in the past) but still have this strange hankering to try Wyandottes sometime.
