These pics of the old siding on our home as you can see need work. We want to replace the broken ones powerwash the whole thing and paint it. any help? where can I get ones that closley match the ones that I have? I know I cant get the asbestos ones but am looking for a match. I would need maby 20 of them or so.
I don't think you will even want to mess with removing the old ones. I have some of these left on my old house and a few of them were cracked. I'm planning to have the house vinyl sided in a few years but needed to repair and paint for now. They can be dangerous to the health to remove and from what I have seen most contractors simply leave them in place then wrap your house and side over them.
I got a bucket of outdoor siding repair (kind of like plaster repair) and used a putty knife to fill in cracks and holes then sanded it smooth. Ooops, I power washed first off. After doing all my siding repairs and what scraping remained on the wood siding, I primed all the bare and sanded areas. Once the siding was painted the repairs really didn't show up too much.
