Just thought I'd pop in and say hi. I am loving this website so much. My hubby says it is adding fuel to my gardening fire. Luckily (or so he thinks) we can only have a small garden at the apartment complex we're at right now. I have the patio space and a little strip of mulch in which to plant things. I am used to plants that need full sun but our patio faces due east and has a balcony over it so I've had to learn about shade loving plants as well.

I am trying to attract as much wildlife as possible. Right now I have a regular bird feeder and a suet cake one that the cardinals, sparrows, blue jays, juncos, nut thrashes and wood peckers love. I just put out my hummingbird feeder and have seen both the male and the female of the pair I feed last year. We also have a nice fat squirrel that eats the dropped seed and loves to chitter at my cat through the screen door. Also the baby toads are loving my flowers. I don't know how many toads there are as they are still smaller than a penny. My goal for tonight is to make a frog house out of a small terra cotta pot.

Check out my journal for all the plants I'm currently growing. It's hard to believe I have that many plants in that small of a space.

Finally to explain my name. I grew up with cars and still love them. I am a Chevy girl at heart and always will be. Without a garage at the moment and with the high price of gasoline I'm channeling my energies to my flowers instead of to my car.

OK I've rambled long enough.

Welcome, chevydevil! I know, it is soooo much more fun to buy gardening stuff than to buy gas, isn't it? LOL Just filled up my little Saturn today. Over $30--ridiculous! Thank God it's a stick and gets great mileage. Enjoy our website--we have a lot of nice, fun people here!

P.S. I used to do body work--my chiropractor told me to quit because it was bad for my back. She should see me digging in the dirt and pulling weeds! LOL
