I planted some seeds in my garden, and I've found SO many weeds, that I'm not sure whats seedlings and whats plants! I'll post a few pictures of the items...

There's two particular ones I'm concerned about. This first one I thought was the chinese forget-me-nots I planted by seed, but I'm not so sure now. It has longer narrower seed leaves than the second, which has round ones.

Please! If anyone has any thoughts, I would really appreciate it! I want to pull these if I have to. The first one is growing a lot in one particular area.

If nobody here knows, you might try posting on the plant identification forum instead.

First one is certainly smartweed - a no gooder. The second one looks familiar - can't put my finger on it, I get them - I want to say betony.

Don't know what the second one is, but I've been pulling it for awhile now...I haven't missed it.

Thanks ecrane for the link to the plant identification forum. I'm pretty sure the first is the forget-me-nots I planted. I recently put a few seeds in pots to see their shape when they come up, and they look the same. The second could quite likely be a weed.

Thanks!

Oh wow, I just looked up smartweed-it looks just like it! Argh... I don't think any of my seeds came up! I guess next time I should start them indoors!

This is the first weed. rprovost, Thought you'd like the site I chose for weed ID purposes.

Thanks momo. Thats definitely it. As soon as I saw the comment about the dark spot in the middle of the leaf on one website, I knew it was it. I have pulled it all, and the garden is bare now, but at least not full of weeds! The good thing is that I did find some columbine sprouts that I planted months ago! I was able to sacrifice them, so they should still be okay!
Thanks for all the help! :)
