I planted some tarragon in a pot. It is growing very well, but I've tried pinching off the leaves to smell it, and it doesn't smell like anything. Or, if it does, it smells like grass. The way it is growing in the pot, it looks as though it is the seed I put in there, not just various weeds...and it does kinda look like tarragon seedlings(although I haven't seen a good pic of them yet). So, is this normal for it not to have any scent?
There are several herbs with the common name of tarragon. (This is why Latin names are good.) French tarragon (I don't know the Latin name) has a strong anise (licorice) scent. Other tarragon does not.
