This is my first post as a gardener. I am constantly researching and learning, and I am throughly enjoying my new hobby in gardening. My wife and I recently bought a plant from our local garden center, but they were not very helpful at all. We bought this vine/ivy plant and the garden center could not tell us what this plant is. I would really like to know at least a common name of this plant, I have sucessfully rooted 19 cuttings from this plant and am very happy with its appearance. any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!
Mike

Yep, wandering jew. There is also an all-green variety. Makes a nice ground cover in a shady area.

Growing wandering jew in a hanging pot like that was a big thing in the early 70s. After a while when it gets to hanging down too far, the vine will kind of "dry up" in the middle of the vine part and even drop off. Just cut off that part, root it, and stick it back in the pot. This kind will have little tiny white flowers on it. The all-green one has, if I remember right, little tiny blue flowers.

I bought a Dutchmans Pipe last year and it has some pipes on it but they have not flowered yet. Will they flower this year? or does it take longer?
Does it need Miracle Grow or something to help it grow and bloom?
Do humming birds like this flower? It does get some sun part of the day. I live in NH

Marilyn,
Sorry I can't answer your questions regarding Dutchman's Pipes, but I suggest you start a new topic with that subject. That way, people who are knowledgeable in that area will see the topic immediately, and you'll will get more responses. Good luck.
