Hello all,

I was wondering if someone here could tell me if this is a deer vertebrae or not? I found it in my back yard, by a tree stump. I believe it's a vertebrae and the only wild animal around us that would be big enough is a white-tail deer. I think it's too big for a coyote. What do y'all think? I'm very curious to know what it is. Thanks for any help!

Probably too big for a deer. Looks more like a cow, horse or some larger critter. Maybe a dinosaur? ☺

LOL! That's what my dad said, that it was from a dinosaur. I really doubt it's from a cow or horse. Maybe Sasquatch?

Hmmmmm... well, I doubt it's a from a horse, but I guess it could be from a cow. Illinois is mostly farmland, after all. Must've been from a long time ago, if it's from a cow. Hmmm. Thanks for the advice!

Yup--too big for a deer. I would go with cow too. My dogs drag all kinds of bone pieces into my yard, including cow. And they will bring very old pieces of bone home too--you know how dogs are. If they can tote it, they will bring it home to chew on.

Lol, well, okay then, I guess it's a cow vertabrae. Somehow that doesn't seem as cool, though, lol! ;P Thanks for your help, guys!

All I can say is you have a beautiful hand with no wedding ring. Want one????????????? Love those fingernails too. If the rest of you is as pretty as your hand you are one more pretty lady. Oh was there a vertebrae in the picture????lol

LOL!!! Well thank you Whitewidower, hehe. Actually, my hands probably look better than the rest of my body, though. I have nice hands, comparitively, lol. Therefore, I won't ruin the mystery with a picture. Y'all will just have to imagine what I look like, especially since the member photos have been down for awhile. Dunno if Dave is even aware of that. Thanks for the compliment, hehe.
