I saw one of these used for a gazebo last year when I was on a garden crawl, and I've been looking for one to "repurpose" ever since. Nice job!!

Marvellous idea..did you use 4"x4" or 6"x6" beam supports? Also, would the beam be the only support system you've used...not sure I'd ever have the location to house such a piece of art but you just never know...thanks for sharring.

It was a 6X6 - I won't be using a 6x6 for my other mushrooms though - it was to heavy... I've moved down to 4x4's and I'm even considering hedge posts for a more rustic look...

thanks for all the nice comments ...

hard to believe the patio was under water 2 months ago...
