i have about 6 plants that have grown and produced pretty well, but the bottoms of them are dying. right now i have just wire tied them to vertical poles and that does not seem to be working to well. most have died, but some are doing good but just on the tops. even the ones that are doing well the bottom 3 or 4 inches is just bare stem that looks bad.
Any help on how to set them up. i might try planting some more if its not too late.
We plant sweet peas in late Dec. and first week in Jan. They do not do good in hot weather here. We stake the telephone pea but mostly plant the bush type.
