I look forward to summer when gladiolus are sooo cheap to buy at our Randall's grocery store here in Texas. I just bought 3 bunches at 3.99 a bunch! I think each bunch had about 10 stems...what a bargain!
I take off the last little part (hate to sound so dumb about plant parts here...) at the end of each stem because someone told me about 30 years ago that it "forced" them to bloom faster if you're having a party, etc. ?? Who knows...maybe an old wives' tale!
