| The upper bill seem to be darker than the lower. Pic doesn't show the over all olive green tint to the body.

| Agree with Claypa on Cowbirds, tho' scaly pattern indicates juveniles rather than adult females (sexes indistinguishable in juvs). Perched bird isn't clear, but might be a House Finch.
To see Pine Grosbeak in Calif, needs a trip to the high mountain treeline forests in the Sierra Nevada (and even there, it's rare).
