I'd been dying to try a new technique and finally one evening I sat down out on the deck and gave it a try. Wet on wet, no preliminary sketch, just dropping color onto wet paper. This is cheap paper, canson 70 lb, not stretched, not taped to a board, just held it in my hand to paint.
Except for the cat in the bottom middle which was dry brushed onto dry paper, then I took a large flat brush and wet the whole thing.
I just noticed that the purple one is uside down!

What fun! Don't stop. The more you try new things, the younger you will be when you hit 100.

I was just reading on another site about soaking the paper in a tub of water before painting. I want to try that now.

I like that hummer up in the middle top - those colors really pop! I like how this technique gives you detail, but with softness, too.

Have you ever tried painting on canvas with a screen on top of your paper..can also be done on wood..simply paint as normal..when complete looks just like cross-stitch...fun project...
