I live in a aparetment. My husband and I found bedbug about 2 weeks ago. I would say our mattress looks very new. I tried to use diatomaceous earth to kill bedbug. I would say it works, but not very effectively. I still get bite every day. I am so frustrating. I also use all kinds of spary to treat the bedbug, but they are still there. I search the many websites, but I still don't know how to do. I hope soemone can help me to solve the problem.
First thing to do is make sure they're actually bedbugs and not something else. If you've lived in the apartment for a while and haven't travelled and stayed in a hotel recently, I doubt if they're bedbugs, they're probably something else. The fact that you say you found the bugs also makes me think they're something else, you won't typically see bedbugs. How you'll know you have them is if you find small spots of blood on sheets from when they bit you, but it's unlikely that you'd see the bugs themselves.
Here's a page with some info on bedbugs if that is actually what you have, it's from a pest control company so it may not be the most unbiased advice in the world, but it does have some information.

hi,ecrane3:
I did find bedbugs on my bed, and I checked the picture on the website. It was so terrible. I will read the information you provided. Thanks.
I think you should call an exterminator. Bedbugs are not easy to get rid of, and from what I have heard you will need to get rid of the mattress, bedding, and any furniture they may be living in, or may have come in with. Sometimes people buy used or antique furniture that the bedbugs are in, and that is how they get into your house.
But I have never heard of someone being able to get rid of them without professional help.
