I have a rather spacious home (to accommodate all the kids) and am ripping out all carpet. The carpet is in the bedrooms and in the kitchen (the kitchen has an indoor/outdoor carpet and, I believe me, it has saved my dishes). I have italian tile in the other rooms, or throughout the house. I have a conservatory (with a pool) directly attached to the areas with the tile. You can guess how dangerous it is when people swim and then walk in the house. My conundrum is this: should I tile the bedrooms, too, making it consistent? Can I mix while matching the tile?
One possibility you could do, and we have suggested it in the past, is what every type of tile you put in the bedrooms, put a tile border in the doorway as it breaks up the look. They have so many different beautiful Listello's now a day that if you could find one that blends with your tile say like the hall, and put the listello in the doorway, you could put another tile that blends in the bedroom. We have had this problem where people have ceramic down in one part of the house, and tear out a wall or something to make another room, we can blend very well and very decoratively using the listello's. I hope this helps. Thanks
