I posted this on the Rocky Mountain forum, and decided to post it here too.

I tried an experiment because I could not get an answer. My question was if you made pickles out of bitter cucumbers, will they still be bitter. I made 3 jars a couple weeks ago. I couldn't wait any longer so we opened them to taste. They were good. My kids have been asking daily for a pickle, and my husband also liked them.

I also noticed that when I left them in the crisper of the frig. for two weeks, some of the bitterness went away. Some of these cucumbers were so bitter, that you instantly spit it out.

I also planted a new to me cucumber this year that was delicious and more productive than the other two varieties I planted next to them. It is called Muncher. DM
