I have a couple of dozen large apple gourds. I am new at growing them but it seems to me these things are huge, big as a basketball almost. What is the best way to dry them? After drying is there anything special I should do. I have in my mind what I want painted on a couple of them. My sister is quite an artist so I will let her have a couple. Some of you may have seen my penguin gourds I painted so you know I don't want to mess up a beautiful apple gourd. lol.
