I knitted a cotton sun dress for my grandgirl Ella's first birthday. I was so pleased that she was wearing it for her birthday picture. She looks so serious!
:-)
You can be very proud of both Maggie. They're both pretty as a picture (oh, and I love that shade of pink too). Takes me back to when I used to knit for my own daughter...many years ago. Thanks for sharing them with us.
The funny thing was, Ella was all smiles and laughs until the moment Christine (our photographer friend) started shooting. It isn't like Ella isn't used to cameras, I'm certain she wouldn't even recognize me without a camera in front of my face! She just sometimes insists on being very serious, and can't be "bought" by silly sounds or funny toys. I've had days when I couldn't catch a smile on the camera all day long.
Very nice! She looks beautiful in her new dress! Nice job. Bet it was really fun to make and delightful to see on her. She looks proud to be all dressed up.
I would like to share a picture taking story. Years ago, I worked at a portrait studio for about a year. Mostly taking pictures of kids. It was sometimes challenging to get the kids to smile.
There was this little boy, about 2, dressed in a suit. He sat there all serious. I tried everything to get this kid to crack a smile.
Finally he said to his mother "Is she for real?"
Made me laugh so hard.
