Sorry again I took so long to answer. I bought the squiggles and globs from the states.
I wish I was living there,...you can get everything there. I love that place,...whenever I know I`m going to the states,...I`m crazy happy,...I can see myself running in michaels,..pearls,...and all those craft places.

Marble question..

Has anyone had experience with using marbles on the edges of tables. I have made two mosaic tables with marbles (flat bottomed) around the outside edge and grouted. Within a year the marbles start to fall off... grout and all...
any suggestions???

Hello Jean Marie,

While I cannot speak for charmers, most tempered glass
is adhered to a base which is colored. There are a few
artists who actually stain or paint each piece individually,
but it would appear the base itself was colored in this case,
as there are large sections of each color.

Having said that, I'll again say that I cannot know for sure
until Charmers speaks.

Love your work, Charmers!

JeanMarie,

While I absolutely love the look of marbles, I've played around
with mosaic projects and found they seem to require a bit more
grout to keep them in place. I'm sorry your pieces are falling off.
Is there any way you can remove the sections with marbles and
replace them with gems, which are basically flatter marbles without
the rounded bottom halves.

Hi peeps,...I waited and waited,...went a long time without posting a picture to see if you guys would miss me and come to Curacao to mosaic with me,...but ...sadly...nobody !

I`ve been busy, but I have not made anything special to show...been giving mosaic workshops, so I usually end up teaching and helping everybody and me making nothing.

Here I am Wuvie,...About the tempered glass,...I like to color each piece individually and then work with it !
Why : ???? If I color it first , it has only the coating of paint which can dry evenly and nice on it,..then when I use the glue you wont see any glue. If you do it the other way around on say for instance on a colored piece of wood,..the tempered glass being colorless will show you the colored wood,..but sometimes if the glue doesn`t dry evenly you will see that too,...sometimes you even have glues that change color and get yellowish with time,...and you will see that in your work.

The centerpiece in the wedding work is painted Chickeemama.

I will sit down one of these days and see if I come up with something nice again to show you guys.

Ayo...(bye)
