My fire cracker crepe myrtle is blooming again. It was a K-mart disaster when I bought it a year ago, like $2.00 for a 3 gal pot. Nothing but some bare twigs. It's starting to come back though.

That's a Whitcolm patented plant, if memory serves. Check out the leaves - notice they are thicker and have a more reddish tint to them (as well as the stems). Whitcolm has produced some interesting crepe myrtles - I have his Red Rocket as well as his Raspberry Sundae crepe myrtles. Very pretty!

Dave it does have a red tint to the leaves. How do you find a particular cultivator's plants. I've never heard of Whitcolm. Do you have any pics of the other ones that you have?

MG, I have an interest in Crepe Myrtles, so I'm familiar with most of the cultivars and the growers of them. I read Whitcolm's patent applications, which is why I'm so familiar with those in particular.

I don't have any pictures of the Raspberry Sundae yet, but I do have pictures of the Red Rocket.

WOW, Dave that's gorgeous. How did you get ahold of those seeds, I'm assuming it was a seed. Can you buy them anywhere?
