That's a Whitcolm patented plant, if memory serves. Check out the leaves - notice they are thicker and have a more reddish tint to them (as well as the stems). Whitcolm has produced some interesting crepe myrtles - I have his Red Rocket as well as his Raspberry Sundae crepe myrtles. Very pretty!
MG, I have an interest in Crepe Myrtles, so I'm familiar with most of the cultivars and the growers of them. I read Whitcolm's patent applications, which is why I'm so familiar with those in particular.
