I'm a pushover for end of season plant bargans. This JM was unlabled, sunscalded, tipped partially over, and had 5" roots growing out of the B&B rootball into gravel. It was also marked 50% off. So, now it is in my back yard - unidentified. In the garden center it was a one of a kind. No one knew what cultivar it is. I have been through all two of my JM books and can't fnd an ID. It most resembles a Uki Gumo, except that it is mostly, but not completley, 7 lobed. The leaves appear to unfurl heavily varigated with white. New shoots are red. The trunk bark is a bright green. Some of the leaves also have a pink flush in the white areas. There are some 5 lobed leaves with no variegation whatsoever. No hint yet of any fall color. Anyone recognize this tree?
