I have several jacarandas that I have grown from seed. They range from 8" to 12" tall and are 8 months old. Fall is here where I live, and I was wondering if these bonsais need to go dormant. Is this necessary? and how do I do it? BTW, I cannot place them outside as our fall nights and winters are too cold for this species.
They don't need to go dormant, in climates where they're hardy they are evergreen. So I would treat them like houseplants, make sure they get light and water. I'm not sure how well they'll adapt to indoors, but I think that's your best shot.
Yeah, sometimes I post things in this thread so non-subscribers can see the thread. I already posted it in the other forum and have recieved no replies
Is jacaranda something that's commonly grown as a bonsai? You might have better luck posting in tropicals, that's where you'll find the other people who are trying to grow it, although most probably aren't bonsai-ing it. But winter care will be the same regardless.
