We have a new garden, planted by professional landscape designers. They planted an acer palmatum, "Koto-No-Ito", which is not doing well. They told us to water daily (Rainbird sprinkler system) so everything can get well-established. The JM is the only one with problems...some of the leaves are curling up and dead-looking. Most of the tree is still green, but there's one twig up at the top sticking out and it looks just plain dead. I have no idea if this tree sheds its leaves in winter...we live in Vancouver WA and our winters are quite mild. I have no idea what to do for the poor thing.
The picture I'm sending shows the tree before it started looking bad...I'll have to wait till I get home to send a closeup of the leaves as they look now.
