Okay, as noted in another thread, we are going to design the perfect plant marker system on this thread. Tell me what features you would want in a plant marker. I know what I would want but I'm sure there is something I haven't thought of.

My first thoughts are:
- fade proof
-animal proof
-break proof
- inexpensive
- unobtrusive (for those in Rio Linda, as Rush says, that means doesn't stand out)
- has a backup system in case the above ground part does get lost

Of course, re: being unobtrusive, there are plenty of designs already out there that DO standout, for when you want the cultivar obvious for a display or tour garden.
