Hi folks:
So, I had a trade set up for a division of Cyperus papyrus, but it fell through.
I'm now bringing plants indoors for the winter, and I know that C. papyrus won't grow well indoors during the winter anyway, so I'm thinking about trying to grow it from seed.
My thoughts were that this way, I'll get a 'jump start' on a plant for next summer, and hopefully (as it usually does) starting from seed will help acclimate the plant to it's currently availble environment (indoors).
Has anyone successfully grown Papyrus from seed?
Does anyone recommend this method, or am I just better off finding a division in the spring of 2008?
If recommended, do I need absolutely fresh seed?
Any other tips or pros/cons?
Thanks in advance!
