Hi, just wanted to know if I could plant some Chinese Holly indoors? It's probably not the best lit room in the house, but there is some southern sunlight coming through the window. I see this plant on lawns shaped like animals and big ballls, I'd like to get a clump near a bedside table or something. Any advice? Thanks so much!
I think this plant is meant to be an outdoor shrub ... can get quite tall at 6'. I'm not sure it will do well as a houseplant but maybe someone more knowledgeable will come along with some advice.
Here's a link to this plant in Plant Files that gives a little information on it:
It's an outdoor shrub that likes some sun, so I don't think it's going to do well indoors except maybe in a really, really bright window. If you want to do an indoor topiary sort of thing, you might consider ivy instead, it'll do fine as a houseplant and can be trained around topiary forms.
