My Mom will only wear hand knitted socks since she can't tolerate the elastic. I'm not sure if she can still knit but she has lost the patterns anyways. Plus,I'm not sure we can still get the proper yarn here. Does somebody have a pattern? Or I can commission a few pairs at whatever price they are worth?
Thanks in advance,
Lee Anne

Hi Lee Anne,

Sock knitting is extremely popular right now - there are oodles of sock yarns available online, and in just about every knitting store. The pattern would depend upon what kind of socks she wants. Here is a link to an incredible number of patterns:

Here is a link to a store that sells just sock yarn!

I found them via a google search (I haven't bought from them) and just wanted to post it so you could get an idea of just how much sock yarn is available.

I don't knit for money, but there are people who do so. I have seen hand knitted socks for sale on ebay. Perhaps a yarn store in your area could direct you to some knitters who are willing to knit for a price.

Hope this helps,
Diane

Yes, I'm on my 4th and 5th pair right now. Socks are addictive!
My 2nd were these adorably cute lacey ones:

Etsy is online- kind of like Ebay where there are different sellers, except you don't bid. I'm almost positive that I've seen several sellers from Canada.

It would be nice if you could search sellers by country, though!

Thanks for the link Trish...looks like they all ship everywhere anyways. There's even a contact link so I can ask about perfumes or any other allergens that may be present. I have to be careful shopping for Mom, she is allergic to pretty much everything.
