I need to paint a couple of outdoor signs -- I want something durable but with nice colors and I'd rather not buy more than a pint of each paint, if possible ... any ideas? Also I don't want them to be shiny -- I like matte finish -- so any sealer or finisher would have to be matte ... (I always take the road less traveled) ... I understand artist acrylics don't work so well for stuff that needs to take a lot of weather abuse ...
I would suggest Artist Exeterior Acrylics. They aren't the cheapest, and I am not sure if they sell them by the pint, but they are matte, and designed for outdoor use.
If you use the varnish they make, just make sure not to put too many coats or it will start to get glossy.
My art shop here sells them, I know you can get them at Dick Blick too: [HYPERLINK@www.dickblick.com]
