Sue, has your tree come out of dormancy yet? I bought one of these trees bareroot from a nursery and planted it a couple of months ago. The apple that I bought and planted at the same time is fully leafed out, but the persimmon is still bare, and I'm wondering if it died or rotted or something. My peach tree is already putting on leaves and fruit so I'm thinking that this persimmon tree can't still be dormant. I guess I may have to exchange it if it died. Thanks in advance.
That's okay. Thanks anyway. I did some research last night and found out that persimmons resent transplanting and are very slow to come out of dormancy after the first transplant. I won't be expecting leaves until July possibly!
