I have mastered a new stitch and made this braclet. Anyone else do beading?

Thank you Rose, it seems I am alone in doing my beaded jewelry.
It is very relaxing for me, I enjoy it so much.

I saw a episode on DIY Jewerly Making show with Jackie Guerra of someone making jewerly by crocheting wire. It was gorgeous. I would love to see more of you work.

I think I have watched all of her shows. She has some neat things. I don't fool with the wire as I have arthritis in my hands and sometimes I can make the wire work and sometimes I can't. I do enjoy using the needle and thread making things though.
I also do plain stringing , and can do the peyote stitch and herringbone stitch which I combine in a pattern of my own to make braclets.

I don't do jewelry, but I used to (before my 5 yr old messed up my wrist) make beaded flowers. Your bracelet is beautiful!

Thank you Janis, I "test wore it" yesterday and it did not fall apart, so maybe I did tie it off right--I usually wear one that is a new pattern for a few days before I make any more to see if everything stays put like it should.

LOL I understand :) I was supposed to make prom flowers for my son and his date, I did the flowers OVER and OVER to make sure everything stayed in place (then she dumped him right before prom). They are still unfinished. The strain working with the wire puts on my wrist is just too much

I have a lot of arthritis in my hands and wrists and that is one reason I fool around with the beads, I enjoy it and it helps to use my hands. I still knit some, but not a lot.
What did you do to your wrist?

My then 4 yr old son, kicked me, and bent my wrist so far back it touched my forearm :( Then 2 weeks later I fell down the steps and broke it (it was only badly sprained before that). I need surgery on it, but my insurance is fighting me on who I have to see for it. Its been 13 months now. I'm just glad its my right wrist (I'm left handed).

I have a bunch of jewelry patterns, I probably need to try them. I just cannot work with the wire anymore. Have you ever gone to http://www.bead-patterns.com/ for patterns?

I have old pattern books here on making beaded Christmas ornaments, the beads draping over the glass bulbs. I also have the Styrofoam with beads and pins patterns. I need to make some of those. All my beads and stuff are still at the other house (we moved first of October). I really need to get them moved over here LOL You are inspiring me :)

I love playing with the beads. I have one of those shoe box containers that is full of just odd beads. I can get it out and just sort through and look at them for hours and it is so calming to me.

My kids and I love to do that. I buy lots of beads off eBay, and the kids help me sort them. I have a couple good sources for seed beads and stuff too, if your interested.
