Here we are on #8, with Artisan's galore, isn't it great? Everyday our worlds open a little more, for that is what art is really for. To open our eyes to new creations, expand imaginations, increase our ruiminations. What a sensation this journey has been and to think we get to begin again. This cafe is still new, and yet, my dears, it feels like it has been around for years. So, as usual, all I ask is to pick up where you left off...maybe wash a glass? ;^) Bring in your art, be it cloth to clay, AND CREATE, CREATE, for this is YOUR DAY!!

Now that Mike's Kite hanging is finished and ready to deliver it is time to mess about and find something else to keep me out of the Bingo Parlors. lol Having accumulated a few hundred pounds (literally) of 'scrap glass' there is no end to the opportunities for cluttering up the yard, nay, the whole Northwest with odd little dust catchers. Atop the table lay the contents of one small box.

Of the contents tucked away in that box some seem to be asking to be put to use. I think this little piece will look rather nice when all decked out and hanging in a window, tree or someplace. And I didn't think once about hopping off to the Bingo Parlor.

Janet, I was talking about bits and pieces that would be good to make your art with. Things like belts and copper beads etc. Guess I didn't make myself clear.

Aaaaaahhh Things for the "stash box"! Yes, I understand now. It was rather early for me this morning when I read that. I hadn't finished my first cup of coffee yet.

I found some really cool things this weekend at garage sales that I am hoping to incorporate into some sculptures. One of the things is a black leather belt. The leather is extremely soft and is more like something that would be wonr with a skirt, rather than jeans. The decoration on it is beautiful and hinged. It's made from both silver and gold. And the best part is that it's screwed on to the belt. I love it when things don't have to be destroyed to use them. :-)

Something else I found this weekend is a little metal box trailer. Looks like something from a traveling show, think the little trailer that Professor Marvel and Dorothy sat in when he was reading her future.

Connie and I went to Hobby Lobby this weekend and found the same clay we used for both the mermaid and the dragon on sale for $2.89. It was regularly $7.99. Each package has a nice assortment of "granite" like colors, but only enough to make a head. We've been kind of stingy with the clay since we knew we only had so much of each color. I bought 4 of the packages for just over what we spent on one of them.

Pupil, Balvenie is a Single Malt Scotch which I seem to be partial to, and there may have been something about my wall of scrap glass, but some time ago. Is this what you had in mind ?

Janet, you have me wanting to start going to garage/yard sales again looking for little gems which I had overlooked in the past. Shame on you, just when my sweetheart must have thought she had me broken of the garage sale habit. Well there aren't many this time of year around here, but theres always next year.

I do have a focus problem.

Here is a little quilt that we can hang on a wall. This is the house where one of my Grandmothers lived (It wasn't really red, I just had red fabric, and It looked better with the blue sky. LOL) That is a drawing of her and a photo of a quilt that she made in 1930. The quilt is about 30"x40".

Hello everyone. Hellooo, hellooo, helloo. Wow very quiet today. If you were like me, you barely had time to think about a computer, much less get on one. It has been none stop. The fun thing is, while cleaning out the garage, I found tons of wood scraps and moldings. I also found about 10 used paint cans half full. I think I am going to get the power tools out and PLAY!!

Just a reminder this is a vegatarian cafe. Of course, those who have not been here before have no idea. So, for those who are new, please withhold from posting pics of any dead animals and such. And those who have been around for a while, please keep this in mind. I am going to go ahead and start a new thread.

On with the show...packing up...and...here we go! http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/790127/

Hi, Traci
I just found this forum!!
I love many types of crafts. I don't have a lot of time to post but I will be watching to see everyone projects. Hopefully, I can start something new before Christmas.

Melody, I like the tie dyed shirt with the hummingbirds stamped on it. Where did you find it. I might put it on the one I made at the KY Roundup.

Everyone have a great week,

Hey Teresa,
Glad to see you made it! Have fun catching up. It goes pretty quickly around here, but there are tons of beautiful items to see and a very diverse genre.

We take old and new crafts, so if you have something you have made, please bring it on in the cafe'. First round is on the house when you post a craft. If not, please still drop in anytime and just relax and chat with others. I have gotten so many ideas from this and I have never attempted any craft since I was 5 doing counted cross stitch. lol.

By the way, my DL's are doing wonderful. However, I am constantly going to the auction now. lol. I have not purchased anything, but have been very tempted!! Oh, the dangers of asking someone for a link to where PLANTS are sold. ;^)

I have metal stencils that I use a stencil brush and fabric paint. They are actually for making embossed cards, but they do double duty sometimes with paint.

I think Hobby Lobby or Michael's carry them. I got mine at the Paducah Quilt Show.
