With turkey day coming up I want to clean at least the inner glass of the oven so we aren't opening the door every 15 minutes to check the dang thing!!! I am afraid to use cleaners that may contaminate the fud...

Yes, it is a self cleaning oven but we are still working on getting below the upper eighties here and can't keep the house opened up to get rid of the smell or keep the house cool enough. I also have two little ones that I don't want anywhere near it if it is getting that hot!!!!

What do you all have up your sleeves? I have heard baking soda and water but also don't want to spend half a day scrubbing...two little ones don't allow that =0(

*Newhobby eagerly awaiting her Queen of Clean books and will share once arrived*

Thanks a bunch!!!

Is it that brown grease that gets baked onto glass pans. Here's what works for that, and presumably it would on your oven door. You might need to leave the over door open overnight to get this to work.

Place just enough water on the glass to dampen it. Cover with baking soda to cover (not heaps, but a good thin layer). The baking soda should be just damp. Now add liquid dish soap on top. The should all soak and be just damp, to form a paste. Let it sit overnight and in the morning it should come off easily with a scrub brush. Works really well on those glass baking dishes that develop build-up.
