    Is it a hawk? A falcon? It's sitting right next to my feeders. He's gorgeous!

    Could it be a poofed-up broad-winged hawk? I thought they would have all left in their migration by now...

    Thanks Resin--you're right! I had also emailed the pictures to the local Audobon society and they told me the exact same thing.

    Nice pics Niere! He's not exactly the visitor you want around your feeders alot but they are beautiful!

    Pelletory--you're right, the Audobon people told me that the sharp-shinned hawks like to dine on songbirds and scope out feeders, but I had also read that they are migratory, so I'm hoping that he was just "passing through."
