I live in zone 7b, Maryland. I really want a bamboo clump for cutting for crafts, garden and my birds, etc.
But because I don't want it to take up a lot of room, I'd like a tall one. The tallest possible as long as it's sturdy. And I need one that's known for being very strong bamboo, not the kind that's prone to splitting.
Also, no way I want another asian plant getting out of control. Are there any native bamboos to my area or can I plant something around it to keep it from escaping?
