Sometimes, we feel really "non-frugal" at not using the additives, but there's a day coming...as it does every early December... when we rev all the engines up and de-gas 'em :)

Neighbors are never happy!! We do our best at leaving minimal fuel, but there's always that trace...

Great article Paul and thanks

I will absolutely always use additives. Our generator was a used acquistion. DH had cranked it when we first bought it. Then it sat in storage for a couple of years. We had a major windstorm that knocked power out for 4 days. We got it out the first night. When I checked the fuel, I noticed it was an odd color. The generator cranked on the first pull. I said then, everything will have fuel stabilizer in it. In fact I treat immediately when I bring the gas home.

We have opened a gas can that had sat for a while and noticed the odor of lacquer. I can only imagine the damage that could cause in a small engine.
