Does anyone know the best way to force Asiatic lilies open as a cut flower? We have extremely closed lilies that need to be opened by Saturday. I have been replacing the water regularly with luke warm water and am about to place them under my grow lamps.

Any ideas would be very much appreciated. Thanks

What you're doing sounds about right to me. Are they in a warm location? That will help also. I was going to suggest gently pulling on them as they open, but I remember asiatic lilies bruise very easily so maybe that's not such a good idea. That's about all I know. Good luck!

I am sorry I don't have anything to add, but I would love to know how you plant asiatics to force them. I have never forced a bulb before and have tons!!

Thanks,
Traci

No they were not planted. It was for a wedding we were preparing the flowers for, and the lilies came very unopened. So, we tried everything to get them to open in a few days.

Did you manage to get the lilies to open before the wedding? Laverne
