Just a little tip we learned in pricing systems...we contacted a neighbor who is a licensed AC person and also Home Depot. Home Depot may seem inticing with their 1 year no payments finance plans but we found affordable financing through our credit union and were able to get a better system (17 seer) for LESS than the cheap-o system HD would do for MORE. HD wanted about 5 grand more for a 13 seer system vs the small shop.

So just an FYI if you find yourself in the market to buy new. We're completely happy with ours and the price.

This was for a Trane system. We also would have accepted a American Standard. Both offer 10 year warrenties on ALL parts!

Previous owner replaced unit with a York. After 4 years it caputed.

I had exactly the same experience. I interviewed 4 companies and I also got a 17 seer Trane for 5k less than the HD quote by going with a smaller company. I looked them up on BBB and Kudzu saw no complaints and went with them.  I am totally happy with the purchase and my electric last summer IN PHOENIX was $100.00 cheaper each month than the previous year.
