I have made a carrot patchouli soap before, I juiced the carrots, would be the only way I think to keep the bar from molding LOL anything like bits of veggies or herbs not dried that are sticking out of the bar of soap will mold.
Had no trouble with carrot juice or grinding up cucumbers finely for soaps either. no mold , no other problems. I made cold process soap, but have made hot process using the juice also.
Do you use alot of essential oils in your soaps? I have almost stopped using the citrus eo's inmysoaps, because the scent doesn't last at all. And find that I have to package my soaps completely sealed up so the scent lasts longer, cause if it's exposed for a length of time, the scent doesn't last. And I usually buy the good scents from tonysfragrance oils or oregontrailsoaps.com
and I buy my eo's from camdengrey.com and a couple other places.
Have you tried the nerolli oil before, (spelling). Does it last a while?
I always let my soaps cool down alot before I add the citrus oils, that it doesn't burn up in the cool down.
I get most of my oils from a local health food store,EO, the FO's I get from Brambleberry's, Soapcrafters
I haven't used this scent before, Neolli, but you can mix it with alot of things, lemon, etc.
We need to swap list of suppliers, always looking for a better buy.
I've used brambleberry before also. found soapcrafters to be a little high dollar for me. It's been quite sometime since i've had to buy supplies, but most of my bulk oils come from
well, the web site escapes me at the moment, columbia foods? or something like that, they have a huge line of vegetable oils for soapmaking. cheaper than any other web site i've found.
I buy my lye locally 40# at a time, and split it with another soap maker.
