I live in coastal GA, 40 mi. from the FL. line and want to grow some heirloom tomatoes. Very hot-to 95 in mid-summer-and bugs and diseases are a PROBLEM! Which ones should I plant ? Any special needs I should know about for heirloom tomatoes? Do they have good disease resistance? Thanks, Frank.

Frank, Welcome to DG!

You will probably get a much better response if you post this in the tomato forum. Heirloom tomatoes are hot topics over there and I know there are a number of folks from Georgia and Florida that are active participants.

I am in Jax and am trying about a dozen varieties this year. I don't have any idea what will happen but I'll try to stay in touch. My 'maters are all heirlooms and are about three inches tall. I am starting them myself as I have had no luck finding good varieties already to go down here. Good luck.

Welcome, Frank! I use to live in Brunswick and tried to garden there. Was I a green horn gardener then. That was the days before I had a computer and had access to Dave's Garden. I have learned so much here!
