Although I love the look of the purple fountain grass, the ones I had last year were much too large for the areas that they were in, so I have been hunting for a smaller version. I may have found one at Santa Rosa Gardens. They have a grass called Eatons Canyon (pennisetum setaceum) that only grows 2 - 3 ft tall. I am going to order a couple this spring, when it gets warmer. Unfortunately, it is still an annual in my zone.
