We bought this *Sun* purposely to mount on the gable over our porch. But I think it should be mounted to a sturdy board first. And the board should be painted so the sun will show up. The metal is stamped out, and isn't heavy. We are somewhat *paint color challenged*. The siding on our house looks like used brick, (its not). As long as its not yellow, we are open to suggestions.
A *sunburst* behind the sun might work, but what color? I have no idea how the thing will age, it already has a faux patina.

I was going to say a mustard-y yellow until you said no yellow! How about using the sage/moss color of green that's in the sculpture? Maybe a shade or two lighter or darker than what's in the sculpture?

What color is the trim on your house? Probably white or brown...maybe green. You could use your trim color if it'd work. You could also pick any color and then use it for other accents around the area.

Don't throw out yellow though, please! LOL! There are many shades of yellow that don't hurt your eyes...what about a tan/gold colored yellow? Or a yellow going towards orange? Hmm, yeah, a burnt orange would look great behind Mr. Smiley Sun.

Make sure you post pics of the finished project, I can't wait to see it!

Maybe sponge sage, I love that color, and layers of burnt umber, lightly dry brush, dark sienna brown and maybe some cream or off white. Depends on what technique you're going to use.
